Roses are Roses and Lilies, Lilies!

 Still I remember one of my friends, envied often for she had a patch on the left side of her uniform shirt below the collar. There was a patch because of frequent fastening of the badge for she won first rank in all the year round examinations. Once I too got that blue badge on my dress code but not frequently enough to scar my ujala dipped white shirt.   The badge rip up not only the shirt of the triumphant friend but also the tender heart of the elementary learner who failed to accomplish it. That disheartened girl and the victim of the rat race, remains pink in the heart of the middle aged. Once upon a time, making grades was the ideal way to impress teachers and the cynosure amidst the relatives. The badged and complimented solely shall glimmer in the dark sky, brushing aside the falling stars and the lurking stars in the constellation.
